What data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

Last updated: 22 May 2026 · Version 2.0

At Vunto we handle your data with the same principle we build the product on: honesty and the bare minimum. This policy explains, with no fine print, what data we collect when you use the Vunto mobile app and the website vunto.online, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what control you have over it.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Vunto (“we”), owner and operator of the Vunto app and the website https://vunto.online.

For anything privacy-related, write to privacidad@vunto.online. We reply within 30 days.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what Vunto needs to work:

  • Account data: email address, the display name you choose, language, currency and your plan. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an identifier and the associated email (never your password).
  • Content you submit — photos: the images of objects you capture or upload for analysis. They are the core of the service: no photo, no analysis.
  • Analysis results: the generated report (identification, estimated value, use and history, recommendation) and the history tied to your account.
  • Usage data: number of analyses, dates, selected language and market, and technical errors so we can fix them.
  • Device technical data: device type, operating system, app version, technical identifiers and IP address, used for security and diagnostics.

We do not collect special-category data (health, beliefs, religion, etc.), nor do we try to identify people in photos. Vunto is built for objects, not people.

3. Permissions the app requests

  • Camera: to capture the photo of the object you want to analyse. It only activates when you open the capture screen.
  • Photos / gallery: so you can pick an existing image instead of taking a new one.
  • Storage: to temporarily hold the image before sending it for analysis and to export PDF reports, if your plan allows it.
  • Internet connection: required to process the analysis on our servers.

You can revoke any permission from your device settings at any time; some features will stop working.

4. How we use your data and our legal basis

  • Providing the service (analysing your photo and returning the report) — legal basis: performance of contract.
  • Managing your account and history — performance of contract.
  • Billing paid subscriptions — performance of contract.
  • Security, abuse prevention and error diagnostics — legitimate interest.
  • Improving the product with aggregated, anonymous metrics — legitimate interest.
  • Service communications (important notices) — performance of contract. Marketing only with your prior, revocable consent.

5. How your photo is processed with AI

When you submit an image, it is transmitted encrypted to our servers and processed by artificial-intelligence models to identify the object and estimate its market value. To do so we may query public price sources (for example marketplaces) using data about the object, never your personal data.

Images are used exclusively to generate your analysis. We do not use them to train third-party models without your explicit consent.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. Ever. We share only what is essential with providers who help us operate, all bound by confidentiality and data-processing obligations:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that store data securely.
  • Artificial-intelligence providers that process the image to generate the analysis.
  • Apple and Google, only if you choose to sign in with their services.
  • Payment providers, who handle subscriptions; we do not store your full card details.

We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect rights, safety or integrity.

7. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. In those cases we apply appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

8. How long we keep your data

  • Account data and history: while your account is active.
  • Images: as long as needed to generate and show your report in the history; you can delete them anytime.
  • Billing data: for the period required by tax law.

When you delete your account, we erase or anonymise your personal data except what we must keep by legal obligation.

9. How to delete your account and data

You are in full control. You can:

  • Delete specific analyses from your history inside the app.
  • Delete your entire account from Account → Delete account, or by writing to privacidad@vunto.online.

Deleting your account removes your profile, history and associated images. We process each request within 30 days.

10. How we protect your data

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, token-based authentication and good security practices across our infrastructure. No system is infallible, but we work to minimise risk and respond quickly to any incident.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR and other applicable laws, you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection at any time, and withdraw consent. If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know, delete and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights; we do not sell personal information.

Write to privacidad@vunto.online. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

12. Children

Vunto is not directed to children under 16 (or the minimum age your country requires) and we do not knowingly collect children’s data. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect product improvements or legal changes. We will publish the current version on this page with its date. If changes are significant, we will notify you in the app or by email.

14. Nature of the service

Vunto provides indicative estimates generated by artificial intelligence, not official appraisals or certifications. Each result includes its confidence level. Any buying, selling or keeping decisions are yours; Vunto does not guarantee the accuracy of the estimates nor accept liability for decisions based on them.
